UMNB is seeking a Research Support Officer for the 2025 summer months.  

Canada Summer Job Requirements:  

  • To be an eligible applicant, you must be between the ages of 15 and 30 years at the beginning of the employment period  

Key Responsibilities

This position will report to the Executive Director and will support UMNB staff with the creation and implementation of an internal database and data management system. The Research Support Officer will also work with large datasets for analysis and interpretation purposes.  

Tasks and Responsibilities:  

Data Management 

  • Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and revision of an internal database for UMNB projects, reports, data, etc. Including primary and secondary sources 
  • Develop and implement data administration policy, standards and models  
  • Research and document data requirements, data collection, administration policy, etc.  
  • Conduct data entry, data mining, cleanup and ensure data quality  
  • Assist with the development of a membership survey 

Research & Analysis  

  • Conduct primary and secondary research under the direction of the Executive Director and Policy and Research Officer to help inform policy and decision making 
  • Perform data analysis, interpretation, and visualization of different datasets as needed  
  • Work closely with UMNB team to identify data acquisition opportunities to be integrated into internal databases
