Job Posting: Asset Management Specialist

UMNB is seeking a dynamic Asset Management Specialist to advance the organization’s strategic objectives in the areas of infrastructure and asset management support to local governments.
The Asset Management Specialist would report directly to the Executive Director and work in tandem with the Indigenous Relations Coordinator, the Policy and Research Officer, and the External Relations Manager. The Asset Management Specialist must have GIS training, strong analytical skills and the ability to work with large, complex data sets. The AMS would be tasked with:
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coordinate, develop, and update existing asset management plans, identify gaps regarding the new Asset Management II requirements. This would include assisting municipalities with creating and/or updating asset inventories to include new AM Phase II information
- Work with municipalities to help with necessary mapping of climate risks in their area
- Work with Indigenous Relations Coordinator at UMNB to help map out culturally significant or sensitive areas within municipal boundaries that have indigenous historical significance to help guide sensitive conversations between indigenous communities and municipal officials
- Work with External Relations Manager and Service New Brunswick to help municipalities navigate the Cloud Permit process for building permit, building plans, and inspection approval notices are transferred to SNB.
- Work with External Relations Manager and Policy and Research Officer to begin to quantify total infrastructure deficits and deferred maintenance projects based on need
- Work with the Department of Environment and Local Government to support conversations around future infrastructure planning for provincial assets with municipalities
Competencies:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain excellent document management and file organization
- Intermediate to advanced skills in GIS and other mapping software
- Ability to develop accurate data analysis and data visualization
- Time management and strong ability to remain organized and responsive
- Capacity to work with large, complex datasets
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a University Degree in Public or Business Administration, Engineering, Commerce, or a related field.
- Intermediate to Advanced Understanding of GIS.
