L\u2019Union des municipalit\u00e9s du Nouveau-Brunswick exhorte le gouvernement \u00e0 passer imm\u00e9diatement \u00e0 une deuxi\u00e8me phase afin de combler ces \u00e9l\u00e9ments positifs, notamment un \u00e9ventuel transfert de la taxe industrielle, des mesures suppl\u00e9mentaires et des pr\u00e9cisions sont n\u00e9cessaires pour atteindre les objectifs fix\u00e9s par le gouvernement provincial \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Brittany Merrifield, pr\u00e9sidente de l\u2019Union des municipalit\u00e9s du Nouveau-Brunswick. \u00ab Bien que nous soutenions l\u2019objectif visant \u00e0 \u00e9tablir une s\u00e9paration claire entre l\u2019\u00e9valuation fonci\u00e8re et l\u2019imp\u00f4t foncier, les r\u00e9formes ne r\u00e9pondent pas aux priorit\u00e9s essentielles que sont la r\u00e9solution des exon\u00e9rations, le d\u00e9couplage des taux pour permettre des solutions locales aux d\u00e9fis locaux, ou la correction des in\u00e9galit\u00e9s croissantes cr\u00e9\u00e9es par la protection contre les hausses brutales. \u00bb\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW47301913 BCX0\" style=\"font-size: large;\">Les administrations locales tirent en moyenne 85 % de leurs recettes annuelles totales de l\u2019imp\u00f4t foncier, ce qui est nettement sup\u00e9rieur \u00e0 ce que l\u2019on observe dans d\u2019autres provinces. Toute modification du syst\u00e8me d\u2019imp\u00f4t foncier aura une incidence sur la capacit\u00e9 des\u00a0administrations locales \u00e0 r\u00e9pondre aux besoins de leurs citoyens et \u00e0 s\u2019associer \u00e0 d\u2019autres niveaux de gouvernement pour traiter des priorit\u00e9s communes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">\u00ab Les administrations locales ont l\u2019obligation de veiller aux int\u00e9r\u00eats de l\u2019ensemble de la communaut\u00e9 et nous plaidons depuis longtemps pour une plus grande flexibilit\u00e9 afin de pouvoir le faire \u00bb, a ajout\u00e9 M.\u00a0Merrifield. \u00ab Il n\u2019existe pas de solution unique en mati\u00e8re de r\u00e9forme du syst\u00e8me d\u2019imp\u00f4t foncier et la proposition n\u2019accorde pas suffisamment de flexibilit\u00e9 ni d\u2019autonomie aux administrations locales pour relever ces d\u00e9fis. \u00bb\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">L\u2019Union exhorte le gouvernement provincial \u00e0 agir rapidement pour mettre en \u0153uvre une deuxi\u00e8me phase qui s\u2019attaque aux d\u00e9fis qui nuisent \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9quit\u00e9 pour tous les contribuables fonciers.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><b>\u00c0 propos de l\u2019UMNB<\/b>\u00a0: L\u2019Union des municipalit\u00e9s du Nouveau-Brunswick (UMNB) est une association bilingue regroupant 59 administrations locales de toutes tailles, repr\u00e9sentant 85 % de la population du Nouveau-Brunswick.
