Qui nous sommes:<\/span><\/h2>\n

L’Union des municipalit\u00e9s du Nouveau-Brunswick (UMNB) est une association bilingue de soixante collectivit\u00e9s locales de toutes tailles, repr\u00e9sentant plus de quatre-vingts pour cent de la population du Nouveau-Brunswick.<\/p>\n

Depuis 1994, l\u2019UMNB milite pour des collectivit\u00e9s fortes et durables \u00e0 la grandeur de la province.\u00a0Nos membres d\u00e9terminent les politiques et les priorit\u00e9s de l\u2019UMNB au moyen de r\u00e9solutions adopt\u00e9es par les membres, lors des r\u00e9unions r\u00e9gionales de zones et de notre assembl\u00e9e g\u00e9n\u00e9rale annuelle. Nos membres unissent leurs efforts pour relever les d\u00e9fis locaux et \u00e9changent des solutions visant \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer la vie de leurs citoyens.<\/span><\/p>\n

La terre sur laquelle nous travaillons et nous nous rassemblons est le territoire traditionnel non c\u00e9d\u00e9 des peuples Wolastoqiyik (W\u0259last\u0259kewiyik \/ Maliseet), Mi\u2019kmaq et Peskotomuhkati, dont les anc\u00eatres ont sign\u00e9 des \u00ab\u00a0trait\u00e9s de paix et d\u2019amiti\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb avec la Couronne britannique dans les ann\u00e9es 1700. Ces trait\u00e9s reconnaissaient les titres ancestraux des peuples Mi\u2019kmaq et Wolastoqiyik et \u00e9tablissaient les r\u00e8gles de ce qui allait devenir une relation continue entre diverses nations.<\/span><\/em><\/em><\/p>\n

La reconnaissance de la terre est un protocole autochtone. La reconnaissance de la terre est un moyen d\u2019exprimer notre gratitude et notre appr\u00e9ciation \u00e0 l\u2019endroit des peuples sur le territoire desquels nous nous trouvons, et aussi d\u2019honorer les peuples autochtones qui vivent et travaillent sur ces terres depuis des temps imm\u00e9moriaux.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

  • Represent member interests\/concerns at both the Provincial and Federal levels of government through committee work as well as resolutions, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nAt no time shall the political or religious partisanship of a representative member be expressed or be allowed to influence the policies of\u00a0UMNB<\/span>.\n\nOur Province is divided into nine zones with two directors from each zone sitting on our Board of Directors.\u00a0The Board of Directors of\u00a0UMNB<\/span>\u00a0generally meet four times a year (February, May, August & November) plus before and after our Annual Conference (October) and deals with items\/issues brought forward from our members, or the Provincial and\/or Federal Governments.
